Wash Tips
A note to our loyal customers: The size of the cap has changed and the new smaller cap is the reason the number of capfuls has changed. We have not changed our tried and true formula.
Stain Removal:
Use your mates to remove stains. Apply directly to stain and rub. Soak in your mates overnight. Repeat if necessary. Caution: Air dry only, dryers will cause stains to set.

SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING Hand Wash: Pour four capfuls or one ounce of Hosiery Mate® into one gallon of warm water. Swish garment gently for 15 seconds. Gently squeeze out excess water. Do not wring garment. The best way to remove extra moisture is to place the garment between two towels and apply light pressure. The towels will absorb the excess liquid without damaging the fabric. Lay the garment flat or hang to dry. Machine Wash: Add two to four ounces of Hosiery Mate® to a small load. Use warm water. HE machine approved. Hosiery Mate® contains no phosphates, bleach or dyes. Gentle for you and the planet. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Compression Hosiery: Pour four to six capfuls, depending on the size and weight of your hosiery, into one gallon of warm water. Swish garment gently for 15 seconds. Squeeze out excess moisture. No need to rinse. Follow drying instructions on garment label.

The best way to remove extra moisture is to place the garment between two towels and apply light pressure. The towels will absorb the excess liquid without damaging the fabric. Lay the garment flat or hang to dry. Machine Wash: Add two to four ounces of Lingerie Mate® to a small load. Use warm water. HE machine approved. Avoid snags and tears, wash bras and panties in our lace wash bag. Soft lace bag featuring a “no snag” nylon zipper protects your garments in the washing machine. A must have for your delicates! Lingerie Mate® contains no phosphates, bleach or dyes. Gentle for you and the planet. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

"I got the shipment from Hosiery Mate this afternoon, and tried out the hosiery gloves as I just came back from a social function which was semi-formal so I had to dress up (dress slacks, shirt, tie, belt, support knee-hi’s, dress shoes, dinner jacket, etc). I would have to agree that while the (love) gloves are embroidered with women as the consumer, it made putting on the knee-hi’s (Wolford Pure Energy 30 in nearly black) a real pleasure, and the advertisement on your website is correct, as I did not have to worry about causing a run or snag from either my nails and/or dry skin while wearing the gloves. In my opinion, every one (male or female) who has to wear hosiery (medical, light support, sheers, or fashion) should have one pair of these gloves (or two).
I’ve found that I can wash up to 6 pairs of knee-hi’s per capful of hosiery mate (separating dark and light colored knee-hi’s), so your recommendation of between 4 to 6 pairs appears to be accurate."
